April was a month full of energy, progress, and unforgettable moments at ROL Academy. We kicked things off strong on April 5th with a technical and detail-rich workshop led by our very own brown belt instructor, Marc Hansen, who took students deep into the mechanics of shoulder and arm locks, offering valuable insights for grapplers at every level.
The momentum continued the following weekend as our ROL Kids Competition Team hit the mats once again, representing at the Grappling Industries tournament in Oak Lawn. Their performance and sportsmanship reflected their hard work and the strong support of our coaches and families.
Even on Easter Sunday, the commitment didn’t stop—we hosted a 9AM Open Mat, allowing students to keep their training consistent and build on the month’s momentum.
Meanwhile, ROLRADIO amplified the voices of the Jiu Jitsu community, featuring five awe-inspiring guests who shared their journeys, insights, and passion for the art.
To close out this already incredible month, we welcomed the legendary Henry Akins for a once-in-a-lifetime Jiu Jitsu Mastermind seminar. His wisdom, presence, and deep understanding of the art made for an unforgettable experience—one that left a lasting impact on all who attended.
April at ROL was a perfect blend of competition, technical growth, community, and inspiration—setting the tone for even greater things to come.
